Women Rise for Change (WRC) implements a Safe Abortion Program aligned with Rwanda’s safe abortion framework Rwanda's framework for safe abortion is defined by a 2019 Ministerial Order (N°002/MoH/2019) which outlines conditions for legal abortion within the first 22 weeks of pregnancy, focusing on rural communities and refugee camps where access to safe reproductive health services is often limited.

Our program ensures that women and girls receive accurate, confidential, and non-judgmental information and care by establishing community desks that provide pre- and post-abortion counseling and support. Through mass awareness campaigns and a dedicated hotline, we increase knowledge about legal rights, safe procedures, and available services, helping to reduce unsafe abortions and related health risks.
